Vice Captain, Graham Addison opens with a good drive at Selby Golf Club to start the 2017 seniors team matches last Thursday. A good day in fine weather was had by all even though the opening result was a 5 & 3 loss. First home match of the season is taking place right now vs. Howley Hall. You can’t keep a good team down for long!
After a poor run of successive defeats the Seniors have bounced back in style with victories away to Hickleton (4-2) and home to Easingwold (4.5-0.5) Next match at home vs. Scarthingwell on Thursday.
David Hartas, Senior Captain.
Congratulations to all prize winners at yesterdays ‘sold out’ Seniors Open AM-AM – Thank you to everyone who entered a team and we look forward to welcoming you back to PDGC soon.
The section continue with their busy schedule of matches now the season is in full swing. Latest clubs played were Easingwold away, resulting in a narrow loss 3.5 to 2.5, whilst Waterton Park away yesterday resulted in a heavier defeat, 5 and 1. Next match up is at Woolley Park on the 12th July. The Section is looking forward to the Seniors Open here at PDGC next Thursday, 30th June with every tee booked from 0800 to 1600. Credit to the stalwart efforts of Peter Lawrie.
David Hartas, Senior Captain.
The seniors kept up their good start to the season with an honourable 3-3 draw yesterday against Waterton Park, the matches being played in excellent spring like conditions.
The seniors team continued in good form in their latest home match, albeit in a closely matched game, beating Woolley Park 3.1/2 to 2.1/2. Their next match, also at home vs. Waterton Park on Thursday 12th May. Keep up the good work Gentlemen, all we need now is some warm sunshine!
The Seniors home match vs. Howley Hall resulted in a win, 5.1/2 to 1/2 to get the team back on track after an opening loss away at Selby.
Our Senior Captain, David Hartas ‘drives-in’ with his ‘1’ iron in pleasant conditions at Selby Golf Club yesterday. The match having to be switched to Selby due to a ‘carry only’ restriction at PDGC. We wish David and the senior players good luck in their matches this season. The team lost to Selby 5 & 3, although Mr Captain, partnered by Barry Shaw did win their match!
Entry sheets will be available in the Pro Shop on the dates shown. Please see the link below for details.
