LDUGC Dinner – Elland Road

The LDUGC Annual Dinner and presentation took place on Thursday evening, with the Club well represented in support of the incoming President, our very own Jack McKee. Not only was this a proud night for Jack, but also in the golfing ability of our members. Mr Captain, Martin Johnson, as is tradition, accepted the  F W Nettleton Trophy on behalf of the Club as winners of the Inter Club Foursomes; Andy Wiltshire and Daz Walton, who gel so well together in this format had won the final at Low Laithes Golf Club. Simon Coumbe accepted the Grantham Eley Trophy as Amateur Champion, another fabulous achievement for Simon. Tom Hough then accepted the Presidents Cup as junior match play champion and junior order of merit winner, a burgeoning talent and modest with it; Tom was also a member of the winning team who won the Yorkshire Inter District Union Junior Team Championship. Not to be outdone by the scratch players, Brian Fisher had earlier in the 2015 season won the John Robshaw Trophy, presented as winner of the Nett Stroke-play Championship, whilst Richard Godson had also won the AV Wright Trophy to cap an excellent year for PDGC. It really was like a night at the Oscars and congratulations were offered all round by many in the audience towards the lads, a fine year indeed. It promises to be another excellent golfing year ahead for the Club.
