Junior update

It is a busy time for the juniors at present, and since the last report Tom Hough shot an impressive one over gross to win the Selby junior open which is the first leg of the LDUGC  junior order of merit of which the winner is the best four scores out of six selected events. Tom Ludwell also came a creditable fourth with just a couple of bad holes spoiling an excellent round. On Tuesday the team had there last league match away to Wetherby and came away with a tremendous 4-2 victory thanks to Tom L and Will Wright with Tom H losing narrowly. This leaves us with a nervous wait to see the result of Roundhay v Wetherby next week.Only an unlikely 5-1 win or better for Wetherby will deny the boys top spot and promotion. Finally congratulations to Tom H for winning both his matches on debut for LDUGC v Teeside at Headingley and to Will who followed up his excellent debut with a win and a narrow loss. Finally on Monday we have five entrants in the LDUGC junior championships at Horsforth, so good luck to all. Steve, junior organiser.
